Compliment Her Today
What does ‘compliment’ mean? To many it means saying something nice about someone or something. To others it means flattery. I’ll go with this definition of compliment: a statement to someone that lets them know you appreciate or enjoy something about them. Let’s include “Thanks for . . .”as a compliment. Usually a compliment receives a “thank you” or “you’re welcome” or a smile. Why are compliments so important? Well, think about the last time someone gave you a compliment. How did you feel? You probably smiled a little bit (if not a lot!), felt really warm inside, and said “Thanks!” If it’s been a long time since you’ve received a compliment, then two things probably need to happen. Number one, you need to change something about yourself, and number two, you aren’t aware enough of your surroundings to notice that someone around you deserves a compliment. We all need and want compliments.
Compliments let us know we are doing something right! Women enjoy compliments, and like it or not many women do the things they do, wear what they wear, and say what they say in an effort to be noticed by men. Hey guys! Wake up and start noticing with your voice, not just your eyes. For the woman in your life, this is especially important because then she knows that you still notice things about her. She’s not boring to you and she still captivates your interest.
The surprising thing about compliments is that people tend to do more of whatever it is to continue getting the compliments. If you like something in particular and she doesn’t do it, then offer to do it for her. For example, if you like soft feet (I know I do!) and she doesn’t seem to have time to do them, then you should offer to give her a pedicure. First of all, she will surely appreciate it. A hint: few things are as relaxing as having someone massage your feet. Secondly, she will get a clue as to what you like. You may be surprised to find how she finds time to get that pedicure done now! And when she does, compliment her on it!
Now guys, don’t expect her to give you a compliment just because you gave her one. It shouldn’t work that way, so make sure you mean it. Otherwise it’s flattery. But be attentive that when she does say something nice she’s telling you what she wants or needs from you. Sometimes, guys, we’re a little slow in the pay attention (like get a clue) department. So when she does, realize that she’s telling you something important.
